Explore the breathtaking landscapes of north-western Nepal with the Annapurna Dhaulagiri (AD) Trek, also known as the Kopra Ridge Trek. This two-week community-based trek immerses you in the spectacular beauty of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs, offering unrivaled views of the towering peaks and diverse landscapes.
The Dhaulagiri massif, extending 120 km from the Kali Gandaki River to the Bheri River, captivates with its grandeur. Bounded by the Bheri and Myagdi Rivers, the massif boasts one peak above 8,000m, 13 over 7,000m, and 16 more above 6,000m. The Annapurna massif, characterized by its stunning peaks, sets the stage for an unforgettable trekking experience.
Embark on a trek through enchanting forests and less-trodden trails, surrounded by the stunning Kali Gandaki gorge. Stay in community-managed lodges for an authentic local experience.
The Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trek promises a rich variety of landscapes, including blossoming rhododendrons and oak forests. This route serves as a less crowded alternative to the popular Ghorepani Poonhill trek, offering a shorter yet equally gratifying experience. Marvel at the silver peaks and witness the vibrant culture of the Gurungs and Thakalis, who inhabit this region.
Due to its close proximity to Tibet, the local culture and traditions bear the influence of Tibetan Buddhism. The resilience of these ethnic communities in the harsh and remote terrain, untouched by modernity, adds a fascinating dimension to the trek.
For an optimal trekking experience, plan your visit between February and May, or from September to December. Avoid the winter months, when heavy snowfall can make trekking challenging. Explore the Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trek, where you’ll uncover a harmonious mix of natural beauty, cultural richness, and an unforgettable adventure.
