Ghorepani Poonhill trek is one the of the most famous trekking routes in the region and also one of the best as it provides mesmerizing views of beautiful silver peaks. The route encompasses a perfect altitude range and blend of climate and vegetation to make the trek memorable for trekkers. Because of the stunning views of western mountains, the trek route is also known as Annapurna Panorama trek. We can see 3 peaks that stand tall at elevation above 8,000m like Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna 1, Manaslu and other equally mesmerizing peaks like Machhapuchhre among others. Poonhill is one of the most famous viewpoint in the region as is also famous for the sunset and sunrise views we can behold from here. It is truly fascinating to see the sun-rays hitting the silver peaks and turning them into blazing orange. We can also see the Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest in the world from Poonhill.
The trek starts from the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. it is a loop trek route aroung Ghorepani and Ghandruk. We will trek through beautiful rural villages of Tikhedhunga, Nanga Thanti to reach Ghorepani which lies at elevation of 2,874m. From there we will trek to Poonhill which lies at elevation 3,210m. From there, we will trek down to Ghandruk village from where we will descend down to Nayapul and Pokhara. Another main highlight of the trek is that in villages like Ghandruk and other high hill villages along our trek, we will be able to observe and immerse in the beautiful culture of Gurung people. Gurungs are famed all over the world for their bravery and it is fascinating to see the rich traditions and culture of these people. We can also visit the Gurung history museum in Ghandruk that chronicles the rise of this particular Buddhist ethnic group. Because of moderate altitude and difficulty level the trek is suitable for all kind of trekkers in good health state. Since it does not take many days it is suitable for those who cannot afford to take a long vacation. The trek can be customized or extended as per the wish of trekkers. We can include other activities like rafting in Seti River, or Chitwan jungle safari. The most appropriate time for Ghorepani Poonhill trek is autumn (Sep and Dec) and spring (April and May). The months are selected on the base of climate and visibility. It is probable to trek in the winter months as well but there are heavy chances of snowfall.
Day 01: – Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel and welcome drinks.
Day 02: – Shopping, rest day and preparation for trekking .
Day 03: – Kathmandu – Flight to Pokahara ( 820m ).
Day 04: – Pokhara – Kade by private transport and walk to Pothana (5 /6h) 1890m.
Day 05: – Potana – Ghandruk (4 / 5h) 1940m.
Day 06: – Ghandruk –Tadapani (4 / 5h) 2590m.
Day 07: – Tadapani – Ghorepani (5 / 6h) 2860m.
Day 08: – Ghorepani to Ascent Poon Hill 3185m view point – Hile (6 /7h) 1520m.
Day 09: – Hile – Nayapool and drive to Pokhara (2h) 820m.
Day 10: – Pokhara sightseeing day.
Day 11: – Pokhara – Flight to Kathmandu by tourist bus or by flight.
Day 12: – Departure from Kathmandu to your destination
