Kathmandu Valley boasts of 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Kathmandu, we will visit all these stunning heritage sites within a span of 3 to 4 days. We will visit the splendid Durbar Squares which house the magnificent temples, palaces and courtyards which are at least a couple of hundreds year old. These beautiful palaces and courtyards with elaborate wooden architecture are the essence of the unique and intense Newari architecture which can only be found in Kathmandu valley and neighboring regions. We will also visit beautiful pagoda temples of Pashupati Nath and Changu Narayan which are two of the ancient temples in Kathmandu valley. We will also visit colossal Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu Nath and Boudha Nath. It is very intriguing to see the smooth blend of Hinduism and Buddhism in the traditions and daily lives of residents. The culturally rich city always has one or another festival procession going on dating back to medieval times. So, we can be part of ancient festivals like Gai Jatra, Indra Jatra, Machhindra Nath Jatra, Dashai, and Tihar to name a few.
From Kathmnadu we will drive to Dhulikhel which is only an hour dive away. The beautiful newari town of Dhulikhel has sustained all its glory in its beautiful architecture, wood carved windows, pagoda temples and stone-paved roads. It is situated in a hilltop thus providing very scenic view of the Nepalese mountain range. From there, we will go on a short trek to Namo Budhha which is a site of high religious significance to both Hindus and Buddhists alike in the country. We will also visit Pharping, which lies in the peripheries of the city for a invigorating break in the countryside which lies in very close vicinity to the city of Kathmandu. In Pharping, we will Jamacho Monastery which has conserved some of very old Buddha statues and Buddhist literature.
We will travel to Lumbini which is the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. Here we can visit different beautiful stupas and monuments built by different countries across the world to pay homage to lord Buddha. We can also visit the ruins and excavation sites of the then Shakya Kingdom, which was once ruled by Buddha’s father. The site is of great religious and historical importance. Here we can ruins of the old civilization from the time of Gautam Buddha which is very fascinating to behold.
We will also travel to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. Pokhara itself is the number one tourist destination in Nepal with thousands of internal and external tourists flocking to Pokhara annually to relish in its natural beauty. We can go boating in the beautiful and serene Phewa lake, Rupa lake, and Begnas lake. The reflection of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Machhapuchhre in the serene lakes is a matchless sight to behold. We can indulge in adventurous activities Paragliding, Water canoeing and zip flying. We can also visit iconic landmarks like Shanti Stupa and visit the Seti river gorge and mysterious caves like Mahendra gufa and Chamero gufa.
