Mt Saribung standing tall at elevation of 6,328m is situated in the Damodar Himalayan range in the north-western part of Nepal. The mountain is situated very close to the Nepal and Tiber border in the upper corner of the famous upper Mustang region. The peak was only opened for expedition in the 2006 AD. Adventure Exodus has designed the itinerary for Mt. Saribung expedition in such a way that you will also get the rare opportunity to explore the walled settlement of Lo Manthang and Nar Phu valley, both a trekking haven and previously restricted areas.
We will continue through the route to upper Mustang to reach Lo Manthang for our Mt. Saribung expedition. We will be able to visit the historic Lury Gompla and Namta Khola valley while following this trial. After the successful ascent of Mt. Saribung, while trekking down we will use an alternate route and descend down from Nar and Phu Valley. The trial is graveled, rocky and rugged but offers an authentic experience of trekking in the Himalayans.
The Saribung expedition will begin after the completion of sightseeing in Kathmandu and acquiring of necessary permits and documents. We will trek through beautiful high hill and alpine settlements of Koto, Methang Pati, Meta, Khyang, and Phu villages and spend the night at tented camps.
The Saribung Himal base camp will be set an elevation of 4,950m. From there we will ascend for 8 to 9 hours to reach the elevation of 5,700m where we will set our high camp. From high camp, we will ascend the summit from the southern face and return back to the base camp at the same day. From the basecamp of Mt. Sirabung, we will trek down to the hidden valley of Nar and Phu. From there, we will descend down to Koto and then Shyange from where we will travel back to Kathmandu where our Mt. Saribung expedition will officially end.
The Mt. Saribung expedition’s itinerary will allow you to have the most splendid view of the mountains of the western region such as Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri range. We can also have stunning view of the unusual and versatile scenery, experience the rich diverse culture of the Thakali people who practice ancient Tibetan Buddhism. The trek is relatively easier to climb in comparison to other peaks in the region but is physically demanding. One needs to have previous experience of mountaineering or climbing trekking peaks in order to successfully organize the Saribung peak expedition. You will have to cross high and challenging passes like Saribung La pass at the staggering height of 5,600m and the Kang La pass at altitude of 5,200m.
We at Adventure Exodus will make all the necessary arrangements to make sure that you have a 100% successful and memorable time at the top of the most beautiful peaks in the Himalayans.
